What the library offers

Membership

Anyone can search. Approved users can borrow, join waitlists and read restricted files.

Who can join

Students, faculty and staff of the university, and visiting researchers. Anyone may create an account; the library decides who becomes a member.

How approval works

  1. Create an account with your name and email, and confirm your email.
  2. Your application waits for a librarian, who checks it against the university records.
  3. Once approved, your membership is active and you can use every service for users.
  4. If something is missing, the librarian tells you what to bring to the desk.

What users can do

  • Ask to borrow a copy that is on the shelf, and collect it at the desk.
  • Join the waitlist for a title whose copies are all out, and see your place in it.
  • Read the files the library opens to its users.
  • Ask for access to restricted files, such as manuscripts.

The rules in short

  • Loan periods and the number of books you can borrow depend on your membership type.
  • Return books on time: a late book holds up the next reader in line.
  • Reference copies are read in the library and do not leave the building.
  • A copy set aside for you waits at the desk for a few days, then goes to the next person.
